Obituary: Postlethwait, Booze B. (1837-1922)

     B. B. Postlethwait age 84-9-26 died from a fall 7 August, 1922.
     He was born 11 October, 1837 in Wetzel County and is the oldest
     resident of the county at this time. He is the husband of
     Permina Harlan Postlethwait. A farmer and sheepman of Centre
     District he was known for his integrity and good qualities. He
     stood firmly by friends and worked conscientiously for the
     principals of the Democrat Party and the good of country and
     state.

     In 1870 he was elected as County Assessor and in 1880 elected as
     County Sheriff. By faith he was a Baptist. Of fourteen children
     born to the family three died in infancy and eleven survive him.
     Daughters: Martha Taylor, and Margaret Christ of Atlantic, Iowa;
     Selby Postlethwait of Barnsville, Ohio; Belle Dulaney of Dean
     (died 26 Sept. 1934); Lucy Lemasters of Chester, W.V.; Charlotte
     Wood of Mannington, W.V.; Lovicle Postlethwait of Cambridge,
     Ohio; Eva Carney of Lumberport, W.V. Sons: D. L. and W. J. of
     New Martinsville; S. E. of Hepzibah, W.V. A sister Mrs. Matilda
     Snodgrass of Paden City, W.V. (died 16 October 1930). Burial in
     Postlethwait Cemetery.
