He was born at Pittsburgh, July 4, 1839. Mr. Butler served in the Union Army during the Civil War from 1861-1865. He fought in the battles of Gettysburg, Bull Run, and other important engagements. He is survived by his wife (Nancy Ann Yoho), three sons: S. C., J. Q., and Henry Earl Butler, of Farr, WV. And four daughters: Mrs. Luella Cozart; Mrs. Marion Smith, of Proctor; Mrs. J. H. Mason, of Maud; and Mrs. C. M. Burgess of Reader. Funeral services were held at his home on Friday afternoon, November 13th, conducted by Rev. A. E.
