Va., July 1, 1907 Page 391 ABRAM BENNETT, is the son of Silas Bennett, whose parents emigrated from Pendleton County in 1798, settling on the Head Waters of Turkey Run, his mother was Rebecca Crites, descendant from the Crites family, who were among the first settlers in the Buckhannon valley. His grandparents were Moses Bennett and Phoebe Queen. He was born July 12, 1828. At the outbreak of the Civil War he enlisted in the First West Virginia Light Artillery, and served in that company until 1865, or until the close of the war. He has always been a farmer. Has held one political office, that of Constable of Warren District, for eight years. He married Elizabeth Mick, daughter of Methias Mick and Mary Lambert. Children: Izetta Cedora, wife of Joseph L. Reeder; Mary Rebecca, wife of Gideon M. Marple; Emma Victoria, wife of Robert Pickens; Clarence B., married Barbara M.
