Charles Pitts, Douglas No. 3 Mine, went In his working place too soon after having fired a shot. Jan. 12, 1902. Roy House, Thomas Drift Mine, was walking on rail in mine while the mine was idle on Sunday and in attempting to balance himself caught hold of a live wire and was electrocuted. James Walyet, Douglas No. 3 Mine, was killed by a fall of coal in his room. Joe Santofant, Coketon No. 3 Mine, had fired a shot which hung.
