Va.; Preston Publishing Company, 1884. Page 491 John Roth was born in Germany in 1819, and in 1833 sailed for America. After eight weeks on the ocean, he landed in Baltimore. He worked at various occupations the first years after he landed, until, in 1842, he married Maria Frederick, of Germany. Children: Margaret Ann, Martha Elizabeth, Louisa, Sophia, Sarah, Emma, Almeda and William; his wife died, 1879, and in 1880 he was married to Mrs. Elizabeth, widow of Andrew Pifer.
