Wilson, son of Joseph Wilson, junior, and Rebecca Weaver, was born on Slab creek, this county, on October 22, 1849, and has principally spent his life in this county, though he called the "Buckeye" state his home for a few years. However, he has been a citizen of this vicinity since 1872 and of the town since 1897, when he opened a feed store here; and he is now in the furniture and hardware business. He was married to Miss Anna Collins, daughter of Jacob and Sarah Ripley Collins in 1870, and they have twelve children; viz., C. F. and B. B., of the Meat Market; Sarah, Harry, who is book-keeper at the Second National Bank; Maggie (Mrs. W. W. Stuart) Clarksburg; Fred F., who is in the F. and M.
