Adams, Mill Creek Mine, had put off a shot that failed to pull the cut of coal. On returning he went to work pulling down same and the whole cut fell, catching him and killing him. Peter Spears, Buckeye Mine, was working with another man. They failed to timber the place as it should have been timbered or as they were instructed to do, and Spears was caught by a fall of slate. Eli Bare, Crane Creek Mine, was employed as a trapper in this mine. From all the evidence that could be gathered he lay down on the track and went to sleep. He left his signal light, burning, allowing the cars to come on in. He was notified a short time before he was killed to get off the track.
