Charles Williams, Mill Creek Mine, was knocking out props that he had been told not to remove and was caught by a fall of top coal and slate. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Godfrey, Ed (American; 4-yrs exp; age 27; Married) Aug. 6, 1901. Ed Godfrey, Louisville Mine, was at work at his place, when he was caught by a sudden fall of slate. David Glenn, Coaldale Mine, was loading coal in his room when he was caught by a falling kettle-bottom. The roof had been examined and had been considered safe. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pillars, Robert G. (American; 2-yrs exp; age 19; Single) April 5, 1902. Robert G. Pillars, Booth-Bowen Mine, was loading coal and was struck in the back of the head and instantly killed by a piece of falling slate, while he was in a stooping position. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thomas, Edward (Afro-Am; 15-yrs exp; age 40; Married) May 2, 1902.
