Mr. Summers worked for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad company for a period of 37 years and he retired from active service 21 years ago. The deceased was a son of the late James Perry and Alcinda Haun Summers. His wife, the former Mary Alice Phillips, passed away in Oct. 16, 1937. He is survived by one son; James Summers, four daughters; Mrs. Herschel Coombs, Mrs. Madge Devault and Mrs. Lester Morgan and Mrs. Walter Morris, a brother; Thomas Summers, and a sister Emma Cooms. He was one of 11 children, and eight of the number are deceased. Mr. Summers held membership in the Hopewell Methodist Church.
