Obituary: Kisner, Clark W. (1878-1930)

Clark W. Kisner, prominent resident of Fairmont, whose death
occurred yesterday morning in his home, 807 Coleman avenue, will be
laid to rest Monday afternoon. Services will be held in the Central
Christian Church at 2 o'clock with the pastor, the Rev. Ralph
Roberts officiating. Interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery by
R. C. Jones, undertaker.

Mr. Kisner was aged 52 years. He was vice president and treasurer
of the John M. Kisner & Brother Lumber Company, and was identified
with other business enterprises of the city. Mr. Kisner had been
ill for seven months past and he had sought different specialists
in the hope of finding relief from maladies that seemed to baffle
the skill of all who attended him. For a few months Mr. Kisner was
a patient in Cook Hospital, but for some time past was at his home.
He was ever the object of the most tender devotion and attention on
the part of his wife and family. His health began to fail less than
a year ago. He had aenemia and other complications. Mr. Kisner had
been failing rapidly in the past several days. He was given several
blood transfusions during his illness.

Mr. Kisner had a great sorrow in June of last year in the death of
his only daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kisner Hall, wife of William
E. Hall, and her passing was a severe blow to him. Since that time
his health had been generally impaired. The deceased is survived by
his widow, Mrs. Cora E. Kisner, and two sons, Albert Kisner, of
Philadelphia and John Kisner, a student at the West Virginia
University, Morgantown. Both sons have been at his bedside for
several days. The deceased was a son of the late George and Ann
Kisner, and he was born May 8, 1878, in Preston County. For the
past thirty years Mr. Kisner had been a resident of Fairmont. The
deceased is survived by two brothers, John M> Kisner, of this city,
who was his business partner, and Will O. Kisner, of Reedsville,
Preston County, also two sisters, Mrs. Ella Kendricks, of Fairmont,
and Miss Ella Kisner, of Independence.

Mr. Kisner was recognized as a man of splendid ability as a builder
and contractor, and many buildings about the city will be landmarks
to his memory. He was a member of the West Virginia Lumber Dealers
Association. Mr. Kisner was a splendid citizen, upright in his
dealings and had large circles of friends. He belonged to the
Central Christian Church and was active in the work of the church.
Mr. Kisner had a pleasing and kind manner and was deeply devoted to
his family.

Several relatives will be here from a distance for the funeral.
