           FAIRMONT GUARDIAN OF SCHOOL TOTS DIES

Fairmont, W. Va., Oct. 21. (AP)---Allison N. Fleming, 58,"Kip," a
city policeman, died today at a local hospital of heart attack.
For more than 40 years "Kip's" job had been to protect the
school children at grade crossings and it was a habit of his
each year at Christmas time to give each pupil whom he saw from
day to day a bright new penny. He was a general favorite with
the children.

Fleming was a member of the pioneer family of this section and
was a veteran of the Spanish-American war.
