FUNERAL OF MRS. CORBIN
April 22, 1930

Short and impressive funeral services were held yesterday afternoon
for Mrs. Melissa Jane Corbin, widow of Charles J. Corbin, whose death
occurred last Saturday evening in the family home in Monroe Street.
Dr. H. G. Stoetzer, pastor emeritus of the First Presbyterian church,
officiated.

A number of the relatives and close friends were in attendance. The
body was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery by the side of the husband
of the deceased. Tulips and other spring flowers from the gardens of
the Corbin home covered the casket. Pall bearers included four
nephews, Clare Hess, Charles Corbin Hess, Walter Eliason and B. F.
Eliason and Charles R. Hawkins and Charles J. Jones, business
associates of Walter Corbin, in the C. J. Corbin Wholesale Grocery
Co.

Several relatives and friends from a distance were here for the
obsequies. Quite a few were here from the Mannington vicinity, the
early home place of the departed woman.
