H. Hardesty & Company Publishers, 1883 Mannington District, Marion County, West Virginia ROBERT NELSON CAMPBELL - was born and wedded in what is now Mannington district, Marion county, West Virginia. December 22, 1839, was his natal day, and his wedding day was September 19, 1861. He is a son of Isaac and Sarah (Metz) Campbell, who were born in this county, and his wife, born in Mannington district, February 28, 1843, is Malvena Isabel, daughter of Alpheus Wilson Sturm and Martha (Bowman) Sturm, born and raised in this county. Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Campbell are the parents of: James Bruce, born September 6, 1862; Stella Eugenia, August 20, 1863; Mary Ann, June 1, 1865; Alvah Lester, December 28, 1866; Frederic William, September 11, 1870; Luella Viola, January 23, 1872; Ethel Olive, March 1, 1874; Martha Myrtle, March 17, 1879 - all are at home. Mr. Campbell had one brother in the Federal army during the civil war, and himself served about two months with the drafted recruits. He has a farm in Mannington district, and is engaged also in saw milling.
