Hardesty & Company Publishers, 1883 Mannington District, Marion County, West Virginia AMOS SANFORD ARNETT - (the name originally written Arnott), was born in Paw Paw district, on the line of Marion and Monongalia counties, October 2, 1856. At the residence of the bride's parents, in Mannington district, he was joined in wedlock with Harriet Anna Conway, who was born at Hessville, Harrison county, November 12, 1858. They have one daughter, born July 11, 1881, whom they have named Ruby Pauline. The parents of Mrs. Arnett are John Conway, third of his name, and Amelia (McIntire) Conway. They made their home in Marion county in the spring of 1862. Thomas and Harriet (Jones) Arnett are the parents of Amos S., and his brothers and sisters are: J. M., born May 14, 1859; J. Leroy, March 27, 1862; Virginia A., July 16, 1864; Emma R., September 27, 1866 - all are living in this district. Thomas Arnett held a lieutenant's commission in one of the home guard regiments during the years of the civil war. Amos S. Arnett is one of the advanced and successful teachers of Marion county, and has been engaged in that profession for a number of years, under the free school system. Death Certificate, Harrison County WV, 36234 Amos Sanford Arnett died May 27, 1939 in Salem, Harrison County WV at age 82y-6m-25d. He is buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Salem.
