George Feighner, Island Creek No. 2 Mine, was working with wire crew, repairing a line, and found it necessary to drop a string of 15 loaded mine cars down the entry, which dips enough to allow cars to run by gravity. He was warned by the foreman not to ride front end, but did so, and when cars were moving jumped off and for some unknown reason tried to get on again by stepping on front end of last car. In doing this he slipped and fell under the last car, which passed over him. =============================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access other files for Logan County, WV by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/wv/logan/ ===============================================================================
