U.S. Data Repository -- USGenNet Inc. -- Please read U.S. Data Repository Copyright statement on this page: Watts Cemetery September 2004 by Lisa L. Luther (charleywest@hotmail.com) Sign on main gate reads: “Watts Cemetery 1879” Transcriber’s Note: The inscriptions listed here are abbreviated versions of the actual text on the headstones. All military markers will be noted with ( beside the name. Directions: From the Sod Post Office take Timberwolf Trail. Follow this road as far as possible up the mountain until there is a house with a deck to your right, and a gray house to your left. Just after the gray house you will see a gated rocky dirt road entrance to a trail. The entrance has a very low gate across it with a “Posted” sign to the left. To get to Watts Cemetery just step over the gate and walk the trail. The trail is usually not overgrown and is very well kept. The walk is not as far as it seems, and the cemetery is easy to spot. It is on a beautiful grassy mound. The residents of the gray house just before the gated entrance own the property so be sure to check with them before crossing the gate. =================================================================================================================================== NAME BIRTH DEATH INSCRIPTION =================================================================================================================================== Burgess, Harold R. 06/11/1882 01/20/1911 “Our Harold Is Gone But Not Forgotten” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Campbell, Betty Jean Watts 05/19/1917 01/03/2002 . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Estep, Irene Carpenter 1869 1900 . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goode, Ruth Neal 03/08/1930 11/22/1951 “Our Loved One” Graley, George L. 02/1910 05/1973 . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hilbert, F.
