U.S. Data Repository -- USGenNet Inc. -- Please read U.S. Data Repository Copyright statement on this page: McClure Family Cemetery October 2004 by Lisa L. Luther (charleywest@hotmail.com) Transcriber’s Note: The inscriptions listed here are abbreviated versions of the actual text on the headstones. All military markers will be noted with ( beside the name. There were many graves with unmarked stones. Directions: From the Sod Post Office take Garretts Bend Road to the top of the first hill with the very bright green house on the left. Take the road on the right (across the road from the green house). This road goes up a very steep hill and eventually leads to a crossroads. At the crossroads take the ‘middle’ road, which is the driveway to a white house. You must ask the owners of the white house for directions and permission to go to the McClure Cemetery since you need to cross their property to get there. Definitely take a walking stick and a camera. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. The best time to go is mid to late fall to avoid mosquitoes and other things that bite. =================================================================================================================================== NAME BIRTH DEATH INSCRIPTION =================================================================================================================================== Dunlap, Carrie McClure 1918 1918 . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- McCallister, Helen 1918 1919 .
