Andrea Fizena, Perry Mine, was going home from work, riding on the front end of loaded trip. For some unknown reason he attempted to get off on the wrong side and was caught between the car and rib. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cabro, Petro (Hungarian; age 49; Married) November 2, 1906. Petro Cabro, Two Lick Mine, was killed by a fall of coal. It seems as though a shot had made a large crack behind the projecting coal while splitting the stump and after mining a short time the projecting coal fell. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Svdrba, Mike (Slavish; 9 months exper; age 50; Married; 4 Children) January 4, 1907. Mike Svdrba, Enterprise Mine, was ordered to take down and clean up some slate. He found a large piece of slate hanging loose supported by one prop, thinking it would not fall took his shovel . and commenced cleaning the track under this piece of slate. When all at once the slate broke loose, the corner striking him on the head. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pasqualla, Antony (Italian; One yr exper; age 27; Single) January 28, 1907. Antony Pasqualla, Girard No. 2 Mine, was getting up into coal chute outside for some unknown reason when the coal was dumped into the chute causing him to be carried through into the car that was being loaded. He was so badly mashed that he died instantly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Secreto, Tony (Italian; 4 yrs exper; age 32; Married; 2 Children) February 11, 1907. Tony Secreto, Gypsy Mine, was engaged in loading coal when a fall came knocking down a prop, the prop striking him on the head knocking him down and the edge of the fall of coal and slate struck him across the back. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pulie, Salvatore (Italian; 8 months exper; age 38; Married; 2 Children) April 2, 1907, died April 15, 1907. Salvatore Pulie, Riverdale Mine, was loading his car. He became afraid of the roof so took his pick to sound it and as soon as he struck the roof it came loose catching him under it, injuring his back so seriously that he died at the Miners Hos- pital about two weeks later. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Morris, Orie (American; 5 yrs exper; age 25; Married; 2 Children) May 2, 1907. Orie Morris, Enterprise Mine, was loading a car when about half done a pot of slate, weighing about a ton, dropped on him. One or two props would have made the place safe and they were on hand but he neglected to use them. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Marino, James (Italian; age 19; Single) June 5, 1907, died July 6, 1907.
