He married Cynthia Carroll March 12, 1793. He served as a scout in the Indian wars and one summer patrolled the Ohio river near Parkersburg and Marietta. In 1794 he moved to a tract of land on which Palatine is now situated and lived there until his death. His descendants are still in Marion County.
