Evans, son of David and Christena Evans, married Lydda, a daughter of Jacob Riffle, on Salt Lick. They reared a family of several children, most of whom reside in Braxton. Mr. Evans was a successful farmer, a prominent, and reliable citizen. He was Justice of the Peace for several years, and a useful and active member of the M. P. Church for a number of years. He was noted for his generous support of the Gospel. It was his universal custom on meeting occasions, to give a general invitation to his home. He is buried on the hill at the old farm, overlooking the church where he used to worship.
