James Faulkner. Page 94 JOEL WARD Was born in the County of Berkeley on the 4th of May, 1781. He was for many years one of the most influential citizens and magistrates in the county. The grasp and power of the intellect were admitted by all who come into contact with him. He was in 1819, 1820 and 1828 elected to the legislature from this county, and always discharged his public duties with singular fidelity and conscientiousness.
