Children, Dwight Hall, Charles Wilson and Elizabeth. He is a member of the M. E. Church; is a past master in Masonry; in politics he is a Republican, and by profession a lawyer. He was educated at Bethany College, and is a graduate of the University of Michigan. In 1882 he was elected on the Republican ticket District Attorney of Barbour County. In 1898 he made a trip to Europe. He is secretary and treasurer of the Philippi Coal Mining Company. This company, in 1899, successfully placed upon the market large areas of coal in Barbour and Upshur Counties, and brought about the development of the section, and secured the building of the necessary plants.
