Children, Thomas Jackson, (died 1886) Laura and Sallie Matilda. He is a Democrat and a farmer, owning 146 acres in Barbour and 97 in Randolph, of which 170 are improved. He is also engaged in stock raising. He was educated in the public schools. In 1884 he was elected Assessor in the eastern part of Barbour for four years. He was in the Confederate service under General Imboden from 1862 till the close of the war, and was wounded in the left leg at the battle of New Market, and was slightly wounded at Williamsport.
