Children, Cora, Edith, Lora A., Ervin Lee and Bertha. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, a Democrat, and a farmer living on Laurel Creek. For four years he held the office of Justice of the Peace; for six years member of the Board of Education, and two terms was a member of the Board of Supervisors, and was defeated by only three votes as Democratic candidate for County Commissioner. He was a charter member of the Silent Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and was its clerk from its organization in 1875 until his death, 1899.
