For twenty-two years he sailed the schooner Waleska, and twice had narrow escapes from drowning. Later he owned the vessels Cynthia Gordon and D. A. Wells. With many other vesselmen he was forced out of the business by the big steamers, and seven years ago sailed his last voyage on the lakes. A wife and seven children survive him. ===============================================================================
