LUND ON SATURDAY -------------- Veteran Seaman Was Resident Here 72 Years --------- LEAVES WIDOW AND SON --------- Plied Freight Vessel From Chicago to Green Bay 25 Seasons Ago --------- Funeral services for Capt. Thor- wald J. Lund, who died Thursday at his home, 664 Mineral street, will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the residence. Burial will be in Forest Home cemetery. Mr. Lund, who had been a resident of Milwaukee seventy two years, plied the old lumber and freight vessel Quick Step between Milwau- kee, Chicago, and Green Bay on Lake Michigan twenty five to fifty years ago. He came to America from Norway in his childhood and sailed on the great lakes from early youth. He was later employed by the Allis Chalmers company. Mr. Lund is survived by his wid- ow, Mrs. Rhoda Lund; a son, Walter E., and a grandson, Todd Lund. For many years he was a member of the South Side Old Settlers' club. ===========================================================================
