CAPT. CHARLES THAYER, for 50 years a veteran of the Goodrich Transit company, Manitowoc, many years being captain of the Goodrich tug Arctic, died last week at Cleveland, Ohio, after a short but severe illness due to pnuemonia. CAPT. THAYER commanded the Hydro one of the largest sand sucker barges on the lakes during recent years. He was a cousin of the late C. R. THAYER, who settled in Clay Banks in 1868.
