He worked at the Advocate until his re- tirement in 1956. Previous to that he had been a linotype operator for E. M. LaPlant's Door County News. He was a familiar personage in the window of the News building and after the Advocate moved to its present location passers- by could again see him efficiently turn- ing out type on his machine. Outside of newspaper work, which was more than just a job to him, he loved hunting and fishing. "CAP" was born Aug. 16, 1884 in Chi- cago but came here as a young man. His parents were CAPT. JOHN WALKER and MARY AGNES BRITT. May 3, 1916 he married ELEANORE BEH- RINGER in Sturgeon Bay. She survives him, along with three sons, DR. JOHN WALKER, Kansas City, Mo., JAMES, South Bend, Ind., and THOMAS, Sturgeon Bay; one sister, MRS. MARIE CASE, Lansing, Mich., and 12 grandchildren. Services will be Saturday at 8:30 from Stoneman's funeral home, 9 o'clock at St. Joseph Catholic church, the Rev. A. J. Koeferl will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday evening by the Christian Mothers and at 8 p.m. by the Holy Name society. ===============================================================================
