No. 40 Thursday, December 26, 1912 ALFRED LONG DIES ALFRED, second son of F. ERVE LONG died at Manitowoc on Christmas morning. The sad announcement was received yesterday by the relatives here, who were shocked and surprised, as they had not known that he was seriously ill. ALFRED had been employed during the summer on the steamer Brazil and a couple of weeks ago was taken ill with a blood poisoning. At the time it was not thought there was any danger, but he was taken to the Holy Family Hospital at Manitowoc for treatment. He grew steadily worse and Wednesday passed away, surrounded by his mother and father, and uncle, CLARENCE E. LONG. Deceased was born in this city on September 3, 1895, being therefore 17 years of age. The remains were brought here for burial, arriving this morning accompanied by the parents and other members of the family. They were taken to the home of D. S. LONG on Dewey avenue. The funeral will be held from the house on Friday afternoon, and the remains interred at Bayside. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ===========================================================================
