CAPTAIN LAURIE was 87 years old. CAPTAIN LAURIE was a pioneer in Door county, having come here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. ROBERT MUNRO LAURIE in 1853. At the age of 17 he took his first com- mand of a boat on Green bay and continued active in that capacity up until his retirement from the lakes about 30 years ago. He was united in marriage on Feb. 2, 1881 to CATHERINE GILMORE at Yorkville, outside Racine, Wis., and the couple would have celebrated their 58th wed- ding anniversary this year. Five children were born to this union, MRS. E. J. HANSEN (HESTER); ROBERT, WALLACE, CLIFFORD and CLYDE. He is survived by MRS. LAURIE and three children: HESTER, of Sturgeon Bay, ROBERT, of Sturgeon Bay, and CLYDE, of Dallas, Texas, besides four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. HELMICH officiating, and with the Odd Fellows lodge participating. Two solos were sung by EVERETT VALENTINE during the service.
