           OLD SETTLER DIES.
           
           LARS KNUDSON Dies At His Home In Sawyer
            - Well Known Cattle Buyer.
            
           LARS KNUDSON, one of the old and well known
         residents of the county, died at his home in
         Sawyer on Saturday, October 2. For a number of
         years he was engaged in buying cattle for the
         outside market, and became widely known from
         the extreme north to south end of Door county.
           He immigrated from Fyen in Denmark in 1871
         and came to Clay Banks where he lived until
         1902, when he moved to town of Forestville
         where he lived until 1917. From there he moved
         to Sawyer where he resided at the time of his
         death.
           The 2nd day of October in 1874 he married
         ANNIE C. NELSON, who now with one daughter
         MARCELLA mourn the loss of a true husband and
         father. He leaves two brothers, H. KNUDSON of
         Clay Banks, and J. C. KNUDSON of Patterson,
         Calif.
           MR. KNUDSON was born the 11th day of March,
         1852, being at the time of his death 68 years
         and six months of age. He was buried in Forest
         Lutheran cemetery at Carnot, the Rev. CARL
         MICHAELSON of that congregation, and Rev. THEO.
         J. AUSTAD of Sawyer, officiating. Outsiders
         at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. CHAS. D.
         FULLER and Mr. and Mrs. ARTHUR ANDERSON of
         Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. HANS JOHNSON of Algoma,
         Mrs. ROBT. JOHNSON of Algoma.
