A. E. GOODRICH, owner of the Chicago and Lake Shore line of Steam boats stating that as soon as the Canal is opened he will put on a DAILY LINE of his celebrated fast STEAMERS from Chicago and Milwaukee to Oconto and Menomonee, what do you say to it? ------------------------------------------------------------- THE SHIP CANAL AT STURGEON BAY. - This important work is attracting the attention of a large number of influential men at Green Bay, and all points along the shore of the bay, and at Chicago and Milwaukee. To all of our lumbermen in Door, Oconto and Brown counties, it is of the first import- ance as it will shorten the voyages to the great lumber market at Chicago, by from 2 to 4 days, thereby lessening the cost of freight, and adding it to the value of the lumber, - shingles, - posts, - bolts, - bark, - ties, and all the products of the Green Bay region. The prospects are very encouraging, that this enterprise will at once be taken hold of by men of energy and influence and pros- ecuted to an early completion. ==========================================================================
