H. Warren was burned. The place was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. George Jergenson, who lost all their belongings stored on the upper story. Mrs. Jorgenson is teaching school in the second district and was away at the time of the fire, as was also her husband. The blaze was discovered by neighbors who removed all the household goods from the lower floor. The house, or most of the building, was erected by W. H. Warren, who came to Door county in 1855 and was one of the first settlers of the town of Clay Banks. The building stood near a crossroads and was the center of much social activity in the early days when Salona was one of the busy centers of this township. The property is now owned by Mrs. Ruth Spalsbury. ==========================================================================
