GARLAND, a boy 10 years of age, and the only son of JOHN GARLAND, Co. Register. It appears that this boy, with several others, were in the woods, and not far from home, and while at their sports beneath a large oak tree, a dry limb which had been lodged in top of the tree, was blown down, striking the boy upon the head, crushing him to the earth, breaking the skull, arm and thigh bones. He was immediately picked up by his comrades and carried into the schoolhouse senseless, where his father arrived to see him breathe his last. This is a severe shock to Mr. and Mrs. GARLAND, and they have the heartfelt sympathies of the whole community. The funeral will be at Mr. GARLAND'S house to day (Saturday) at 11 o'clock. ==========================================================================
