GEORGE W. NAGLE, one of the oldest vesselmen on the lakes, died at Sandusky, Ohio, after an illness of several years' duration. He was one of the few surviving members of the crew of the Island Queen, which was captured by the Confederates dur- int the war of the Rebellion. He had been master of many steamers. In recent years he had been acting as shipping master at that port, looking after the shipping of sailors on vessels.
