MR. MILLER was born in Cole- raine, Ireland, May 3, 1806, and came to Oswego when 25 years old. He had learned the trade of a shipcarpenter in his own country and engaged in it here, working first for THOMAS COLLINS and afterwards for SYLVESTER DOOLITTLE. He then formed a partnership with THOMAS DOBBIE in shipbuilding and soon after es- tablished a shipyard in the East cove. The firm was Miller Trowbridge for a time, and after MR. TROWBRIDGE went out, he was suc- ceeded successively by MR. WHITE, MR. KITTS, MR. LEFEVRE and MR. MOORE. MR. MILLER re- tired from business eight years ago. He had a stroke of paralysis after the holidays and for the past three weeks had been declining quite rapidly. MR. MILLER was an excellent mechanic, a good citizen and universally respected for his sterling qualities. ===============================================================================
