                   Assaulted Body of Paralytic
                      Found on Porch of Her
                        Rooming House

                   New York -- Sept 14 -- (United
                 Press) -- The first theater party
                 crippled Catherine Gore had enjoyed
                 in two years, had a hideous sequel
                 in the finding of her body, cruelly
                 assaulted on a rear porch of her
                 rooming house.
                   The girl, 24, weighed but 85
                 pounds.  She suffered paralysis and
                 was subject to fainting spells.
                   Saturday night a girl friend urged
                 her to go to a movie.  Catherine at
                 first reluctant, finally decided to go.
                   "I want to see and enjoy more
                 things.  I've been ill so long." she
                 said.
                   The girl friend, Rose Apuzzo, and
                 Catherine were accompanied home
                 by two suave young men who had
                 sat near them in the theater.
                   When the two couples separated it
                 was the last time Rose saw her
                 friend alive.  Bruised, and her
                 clothes torn to shreds, Catherine's
                 body was found by a milkman.
                   Police believe she was drugged be-
                 fore the attack, else some other 
                 roomer probably would have heard
                 her cry out.
