Witherell, 66, of West Sparta died Thursday (Nov. 1, 1973) in Noyes Memorial Hospital. A native of the Town of Burns, Mr. Witherell had lived most of his life in West Sparta. He was a retired welder for the Foster Wheeler Corp. plant here. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lavina Pike Witherell; six daughters, Mrs. Luella Wilsey of Canastota, Mrs. Thelma Polmanteer of Naples, Mrs. Doris Johnson and Mrs. Barbara Wilcox of Dansville, Mrs. Marjorie Nowatski of Wayland and Mrs. Gloria Jaroszek Jr. of Nunda; two sons, Robert of San Antonio, Tex., and Donald of Dansville; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A service was conducted Monday in the Chamberlin Funeral Home. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta ===========================================================================
