HARGRAVE, a young lad aged 5 years, son of Mr. GEORGE HARGRAVE, living on Fifth street -- The father with his wife and four children had returned from a visit to Canada in a small boat, and in rowing it up the Harbor at Black Rock it struck a pile under water, and the children suddenly changed sides and upset it, throwing all into the water. Mr. HARGRAVE, by great exertion, saved all but young FRANCIS. His body was apparently struck in some way by the boat and covered by it. He was not seen after the accident Thursday morning till the recovery of the body yesterday afternoon, about a quarter of a mile below where he fell in. A verdict of accidental drowning was rendered. This is the second child Mr. HARGRAVE has lost by drowning during this year, and their loss is peculiarly aggravating. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access the more of our information about Erie County, N.Y., by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ny/erie/ ===========================================================================
