THOMAS BURCH, a veteran lake captain, committed suicide yesterday by taking a dose of Rough on Rats. He was 48 years of age and lived on South Michigan street. It is said that CAPT. BURCH had been out of his head for some time. He swal- lowed the poison in the morning and died about 2 in the afternoon in great agony. The family first learned what he had done when they entered his room and found him on the floor, BURCH was a man of some property and good reputation. He was formerly captain and part owner of the propeller Davison. He leaves several children. ===========================================================================
