BIDWELL had been a resident of Buffalo and vicinity for over 50 years, and was known as one who took pride, and rendered substantial aid, in development of its interests. As early as 1812 he was engaged in ship building on the Scajaquada creek at Black Rock, but afterwards transferred his business to this city, where for several years he enjoyed an almost uniterrupted monopoly in his line. His name as a pioneer, a business man, and a gentleman is entitled to a prominent place in the history of Buffalo. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ===========================================================================
