CAPT. FREDERICK H. PAULS, 45 years old, former master of the steamer Greater Detroit and a Great Lakes skipper for some 15 years, was found dead on the basement floor of his home, 1839 Cherry St., Saturday. His head was swathed in towels which had a noticeable odor of chloroform, although the body had been lying there two or three days. Suspicious of the inactivity about the house, CAPT. PAUL'S brother-in-law, FRANK SULLIVAN, called police, who forced the door to the home. Deputy Coroner ELIJAH EBY pro- nounced the case a suicide. CAPT. PAULS was married, but his wife was visiting in Chicago. She returned Saturday just as the body was found. =========================================================================== If you've reached this file through a SEARCH, you can access more of our growing collection of FREE online information by going to the following URL: http://www.us-data.org/ ===========================================================================
