GEORGE ORR, one of the oldest vesselmen on the lakes, died at his home on Cass avenue today. He had been failing in health for some time and intended going to his summer home at Put-in-Bay the latter part of this week. CAPT. ORR was born in 1818 on the boundary line between Ireland and Scotland and begain sailing at the age of 32, remaining in the service until the later seventies. For many years he sailed the steamer Chief Justice Waite between Sandusky and Buffalo. He was married at the age of 22 and is survived by a widow and six children, MRS. NETTIE KROVIER and MISS NELLIE ORR, of this city; ROSE, of Kansas, ELIZABETH, of California; and GEORGE and JAY ORR. The funeral will be held at the residence at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will take place in Clinton Grove Cemetery. ===============================================================================
