R. Kirby) LYLE BLASSDELL, son of Mr. and Mrs. EMERALD BLASSDELL, 169 Maybury Grand avenue, was employed as a watchman on the ill-fated vessel, and has been a follower of the lakes since a lad. Beginning his career at the age of 16, as cabin boy on one of the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation company's steamers, he had worked up to the position of assistant steward. Two years ago he left the passenger service and had since worked with Captain GIRARDIN. He was with him on the Harvey H. Brown last season and continued with him this year on the Kirby. ==========================================================================
