VAN CLIEF, south of Yale, ELIAS WEBB at the age of 78 years 4 months and 16 days. Deceased was born in Canada July 15th, 1816, and came to Michigan 29 years ago and had been living in the township of Brockway 27 years. In 1841 he was married to Miss TRIPHENIA BARBERRIE, who preceded him to the better country 17 years. De- ceased was the father of eight children four of whom are now living, MRS. VAN CLIEF, of Yale, LUCRETIA WEBB, of Chi- cago, MRS. JOHN McDONALD, of Cope, Mich., and MRS. ANNA MORRISON, of Bay City. Early in life he was left without a mother but he succeeded in making a good and useful man of himself. He was a kind man who made a friend of every one he dealt with. None could speak evil of him. He was a carpenter by trade and a great many buildings in this township were erected by his hands. He had pro- fessed the faith of the Disciple church for 19 years. The funeral discourse was preached by Elder R. B. BROWN on Sunday last at the Disciple church. ===========================================================================
