FRANK HEBNER, Ill Two Years From Paralysis, Dies in Marine Hospital Here. After suffering more than two years from paralysis, Capt. FRANK HEBNER, 69 years old, died Wednesday afternoon in the United States Marine Hospital. Only his wife was at his side as he breathed his last, the others of his large family having moved away from Detroit. Capt. HEBNER'S life story is a romantic one. He began his maritime career before the civil war as mate on the old lake vessels Reindeer and Forester. Later in life he was made a captain in the service of the White Star line, and under him were trained in ship management many well known ship masters now sailing the great lakes. For 15 years Capt. HEBNER served the White Star line, and then retired to command the City of Concord, his own vessel. He carried salt for many years for the Michigan Salt company. During the forest fires at Port Hope years ago he saved a shipload of refugees and brought them to Detroit. His steamer was burned in 1893 at Toledo. His last vessel was the Sagamore. The stroke of paralysis which culminated in his death destroyed the old sailor's sight, and he had since been under treatment in the Marine hospital. Surviving him are Mrs. JENNIE HEBNER, his widow; four daughters, one son, his mother, three sisters, and one brother, all formerly of Detroit. The funeral will take place at Port Huron, the date to be decided later. ===========================================================================
