COTTRELL DEAD. Old Time Vessel Man Passed Away on Saturday. CHARLES DAVID COTTRELL, of the township of Cottrellville, died at his home after being sick for several months. MR. COTTRELL was born on the homestead on which he has ever since resided. He was a veteran lake captain, having sailed the steamers Columbia, Franklin Moore and Sam Ward in the '60's. MR. COTTRELL'S house is about on the site where his grandfather built a fort and trad- ing post in the early days as a protection against the Indians, and a few rods away from his house is an old Indian burying ground. He is survived by his wife and sons, CAPT. FRANK W., of Marine City; CAPT. GEORGE A., of Cleve- land, and CLEMENT, of Cottrellville; and daughters, CATHERINE, FLORENCE and ANNA. His brother, JOHN F., of Fort Scott, Kas., and his sister, Mrs. J. M.
