WILLIAM J. BERESFORD, 76, a resident of Port Huron since 1873, died Saturday in his home, 714 Jenkinson street. Mr. BERES- FORD was born in Clayton, N.Y., June 8, 1851, and was married to Miss SOPHRONIA LEFAIVRE Apr. 19, 1873. He is survived by his widow, a son, OLIVER J. BERESFORD, Detroit; and a daughter, Mrs. ALFRED WOODS, Amherstburg, Ont. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catho- lic church and members of St. Joseph Holy Name society will meet in the school hall at 7:30 p.m. today, after which they will go to Falk's Funeral Home to recite the rosary. Mr. BERESFORD was foreman of the Wolverine Dry Dock here more than 30 years and was pre- viously a sailor. Funeral services will be held from St. Joseph church Tuesday at 8 a.m. followed by burial in Mt. Hope cemetery. Rev. Fr.
