The UMLOFF boys and several other lads of the neighborhood have a shanty in the rear of FRANK KREASEL'S home and have been in the habit of gathering there for play each day. The gun, according to the story, received this afternoon, was standing on the outside of the shanty door and the older UMLOFF boy picked it up to examine it. He did not think it was loaded and pointing it at the shanty pulled the trigger. The charge passed through the side of the shanty and struck young UMLOFF, who was stand- ing inside, in the forehead. The lad was in- stantly killed. The other boys gave the alarm and a physician was summoned but young UMLOFF was beyond all medical help. Sheriff WAGENSEIL, Coroner ALBERT A. FALK and Proscuting Attorney THOMAS A. GEORGE were notified and went to Marine City this afternoon to investigate the affair. The older UMLOFF boy is frantic with grief over the death of his brother. According to the statements received this afternoon the shooting was accidental. ==========================================================================
