                Algonac - Starting from his home on Russell's
              island for the mainland school at Algonac, WILLIAM
              SMITH, JR., 15 years old, was capsized in mid-
              stream when his duck boat was struck by a 45-
              mile-an-hour gale. His plight was discovered
              by J. R. RAYMOND, ferryman, and SMITH, who was
              clinging to an ice floe, was rescued.
